Tess
5 yo 16.1H Clyde x TB Mare. A red bay with 3 stockings and a blaze. This is one extraordinary mare - she is quiet, quiet, quiet. Absolutely nothing bothers her - she truly has one of the most unflappable temperaments ever. And she is a gorgeous mover with lovely suspension and good rhythm and cadence in addition to extraordinarily comfortable gaits. Add to that her lovely, agreeable & trainable temperament and you have one of the nicest horses we've ever offered. Exemplary barn manners just add to the package. A once in a lifetime kind of horse.

Thanks to Sharon Anderson (and her trainer Beth O'Rourk) for the purchase of this extraordinary mare.

Fifer
Be Amazed at this charming fellow! 16.3H, 4yo Clyde x Oldenburg gelding. A chestnut with two high whites and a blaze, this guy is going to surprise you with his movement and delight you with his mind. His gaits are filled with animation and suspension and he shows every indication of being able to go up through the levels; even at this tender age he can bring his back up and extend his stride. Watch his video! His sire, the (now deceased) Grand Prix dressage stallion Fellini 10 endowed him with a desire and ability to work and his dam, an easygoing Clyde cross mare, gave him a relaxed attitude. Want to hack? he's a star on the trail. We are just starting to jump him and he could be an awesome event horse. He will be well-matched to either a professional or an amateur dressage rider. Don't miss this very special fellow!

Wills
One of our homebred's, Wills is now 4 years old and nearly 17H and he is nothing short of magnificent. A very dark (black) bay with a white hind and star this horse offers exceptional talent and exceptional temperament. Going w/t/c in the ring, he is naturally light and frames himself up. His canter is so effortless and uphill it's like he has a self-carriage gene - it's built right in. What's the saying? What you breed in, you don't have to train in? Well, it's already installed and his canter demonstrates it - it has a lot of natural jump and it is breathtaking to behold and to ride. He is out of a Shire x TB mare and by the Swedish Warm blood stallion Pehrsson (http://caduceusfarm.com/). His bit of shire blood gives him a lovely trainable temperament and his Gran Prix dressage daddy gives him the ability to sit. If you want a horse to go up through the levels, this horse can take you. But don't pass him by if you are looking for a jumper, he has made his fondness for jumping well known here on the farm - he jumped out of the paddock 3 times in one week. Truly, a very special individual. There are just not many bred like this.

Thanks to Ginny Sullivan for her purchase of our dear Wills

Turbo!
A 4 yo black bay 16.2H Percheron cross gelding with two white socks and a blaze. This is a big guy but he has a wonderful forward trot and is kind and sweet and nearly unflappable. He has a lot of maturing (mostly, he has to grow into his head) to do, but spend a season hacking him out and doing ring work and he will be fabulous for anything. He's going to be a great field hunter or lower level eventer. I can't emphasize enough how quiet he is; nothing bothers him, even beginning riders who get out of balance do not phase him. If you need a bigger horse, and like one that is light off your leg, this is a wonderful prospect.

Thanks to Louis Rodgers for his purchase of the indomitable Turbo.

Tivoli
Poetry in Motion! 4 yo clyde x TB mare. 16.2H light bay with three high whites. A full sister to Tripoli, she exhibits all the good common sense of every horse we have had by the stallion Mancel, plus, she is a beautiful mover. Huge, lofty, floating trot and a super canter coupled with a cat-like walk give her three extremely good gaits. She is lovely to handle and is going great under saddle. She is schooling w/t/c, starting some shoulder-in and hacking out quietly. She is not overly sensitive or skittish or silly in any way (for all you folks who say you don't like mares ). Just tries whatever you ask of her with a genuine desire to please. They just don't come any sweeter than this. She will be a big girl, maturing around 16.3 - 17H and is beautifully marked with an unusual blond tail. You could not ask for a better mover as a dressage prospect but she'll make up into a stunning field hunter or lower level event horse too.

Tripoli
5yo Clyde x TB gelding. Currently a bit over 16.2H, will finish up 16.3 or more. This horse was born broke! He is by the TB stallion Mancel who is the sire of several horses we have sold in the past (see Gabriel and Jake on the sold page) and they all really are in a class of their own - just climb right up and go on with them. They could all jump - Gabriel is currently hunting with Greenspring hounds and is a packer over their stiff fences. Trip will be exactly the same. He has an amazing canter stride, is balanced and light in the bridle and will do whatever is asked. He's a lovely horse with a light bay color and two high whites and a blaze. He's been going on hunt trail rides with 30+ horses and is amazingly quiet in company and has hunted second flight a few times this season. His jump is fabulous, light off the ground and upon landing. He's amazingly tolerant of less than perfect riders and lovely to handle on the ground. Stands tied, clips, loads, etc. He went to the Potomac Hunter Trials this past December and brought home a 3rd place ribbon out of a class of 20+ horses over an outside course! He'll start his event career this spring. If you are looking for an absolutely extraordinary temperament with a boat load of athletic talent, don't pass this young horse by.

Blue Steel
16.2 H 5yo Canadian cross gelding. A rare blue roan with black points and 4 white socks, this is a stunning.!. While his color and markings make him a standout, it's his no nonsense, laid back temperament that will win you over. He is well started at w/t/c and hacking out. He has three good gaits, his trot is so comfortable, even a novice rider can sit it. His sire is a 16.2H Canadian which itself is a rare breed. The national horse of Canada, it faced extinction in the not too distant past. They have a reputation as one of the world's hardiest and soundest breeds, earning the nick name "Little Iron Horse". He is truly an exceptional individual. Blue has hunted second flight with Blue Ridge most of the season and is as quiet a young horse as you will find out there. He's brave over bridges, through water and goes in front or behind. He will stay behind and get gates, you can get on and off of him, he never, ever pulls - is happy to trot while every one else is cantering, and he has a ton of endurance; he would give someone a lot of confidence out hunting. His flat work is coming along as is his jumping. He is certainly a lower level event prospect but I think, if you asked him, he would rather hunt.

Kippen
Presence, presence, presence! This mare really has it! 5yo Clyde x Warmblood, bred like Ridley on our sold page this is a big, beautiful, eye-catching mare -she is 17.1H and is beautifully marked with two high stockings behind, a blaze and a knee spot - she has a real presence about her. When we first started her, I saw her as a field hunter, but now that she has had more time under saddle she is showing amazing balance in her gaits; she reaches for the bit and brings her back up naturally. She shows a lot of animation in her gaits and will catch the judges eye. She definitely has potential in dressage and will certainly be able to jump. She has made tremendous progress over the past few months. She has been hacking out regularly, both alone and in company and she absolutely loves it. She is brave and forward and not spooky. She will go in front or behind, will leave the group, crosses streams, wooden bridges and what have you. She has seen the hounds and is jumping natural obstacles on the trail up to 3 ft. She is going really well in the ring and is starting to frame up. She's a wonderful kind and quiet horse to handle and will make a wonderful partner for any endeavor. Her canter is super and we hope to get her to a dressage show soon. If you are looking for a horse that can carry weight and do it in style - she is worth a look - True Star Quality!! .

Thanks to Frank Lakaris of Illinois for his purchase of this lovely mare

Skip
A 9 yo Appendix QH. 16H chestnut that's been around the block. He has evented, shown training level dressage and done a few hunter shows. He recently won his BN division at Waredaca unrecognized HTs and finished 2nd in a PVDA schooling show plus he got a second in a local hunter show. He is a forward horse that loves to jump and would be well suited to a confident Pony Clubber looking to move up. He would also make a wonderful school or lesson horse. He loves to hack and is good with other horses.

Thanks to Kaitlynn Lawrence of Maryland for her purchase of Skip. We'll look for you in the show ring!

Gone Fishing
"Fisher"
Fisher is a 3 yo liver chestnut (with three high whites!) 15.3 hand Clyde cross gelding. He is beautiful, he is refined, and he is, above all, extraordinarily quiet. Well started going w/t/c in the ring and hacking out as quietly as an old school pony. He is just learning to flex a bit and give to the bridle - when he does, he is showing a lot of animation and reach up front. He will be quite a nice dressage prospect but an equally nice eventer or field hunter. People often ask how I select my horses and it's hard to describe exactly because it is a combination of so many things. Prior to my last buying trip, a breeder e-mailed me pics of six horses he had for sale. When I asked him which of the six was the absolute quietest, he said "the chestnut". When we visited to see them in person, I asked his rider which was the absolute quietest, he said "the chestnut". When I asked the breeder's son, who handled them daily which was the absolute quietest, he said "the chestnut". As I was walking down the barn aisle, one horse left his hay and stood at the front of his stall watching me, I walked all the way to the end of the barn and back past him all the way to the other end, he craned his neck to keep his eye on me. Wherever I stood, his eye followed. Turned out, he was "the chestnut". So, if you asked me why I bought this horse I will tell you because he is quiet, attractive, refined, etc., but I will also tell you it's because he caught my eye, which maybe has as much to do with it as anything. This is an extraordinary prospect, he won't last long so don't miss him.

Thanks to Marian Cerilly of Southern California for her purchase of this sweetie. We will most definitely miss him.

Taylor
Our own Theodore O'Conner! 5 yo, 15H, Welsh cross grey gelding. He is a forward little horse with lovely movement. He is a tremendous jumper who wants to be an event horse, He has perfect form over fences, is brave yet is quiet to hack and has the movement to do the hunters. He trailers, stands tied, clips, stands for vet, farrier, etc. Goes barefoot! He's just an amazing little horse. He's still green and has been to just three shows but he's pinned at every one. He recently ribboned at the Waredaca unrecognized event at Baby Novice with a clean x-country go, and one rail in stadium. He clocks around x-country without a look at the fences. His dressage improves with every school and he has schooled 3'3" in the ring. He could easily do Training level eventing and maybe even Prelim. We are planning on novice for him by fall. He would also be a wonderful field hunter. If you are looking for a credible event prospect that is smaller, don't miss this one!

Thanks to Hannah Rosenburg (and her Mom Melissa) for their purchase of this wonderful horse. We can't wait for your first event!

Titan
"Tee"
is back! See Gallery of Sold Horses for pics. He sold several years ago to a neighbor's daughter who has since got her driver's license and lost interest. This horse hilltopped as a four year old, and evented up to novice as a five year old. He is a wonderful bold jumper and a quiet hack. With a little flatwork he will be a serious event prospect. He's a beautiful true black and an eye catcher. He's now six nd about 16.1+ and a wonderful confidence booster. Watch for new pics soon.

Thanks to Toni Junell for her purchase of this cool guy. We know you and your family will love him.

Osocka
Very serious event prospect.
Sock is a ¾ TB, ¼ draft 4 ½ yo gelding that is a true palomino. This unusually colored gelding will take your breath away - very refined, lovely BIG mover, GORGEOUS head and the sweetest temperament. He is starting his eventing career and he’s everything we thought he would be and more; he won the dressage at his first combined test! The judge raved about his gaits. He has the most perfect front end of any young horse we have ever started and he shows serious ability over fences. He has the gaits a horse will need to compete against warmbloods today and a ground covering stride at the canter that will rival any full TB’s. He has eventing written all over his pedigree with virtually every important TB eventing sire in it. With his 3/4 TB blood, he should be able to go up through the levels as far as his rider wants to take him. Currently 16.1 at 4 ½ , he’ll mature around 16.2 or so. He has a ton of personality and needs a home with someone who wants a true partner. This horse has great things in store for his future. Currently eventing with clean x-country and stadium rounds always! This horse just loves to jump. Currently at Baby Novice, he’ll move up to Novice next month. $16,000.

Update! Sockie pins in his first recognized Novice event! In a very competitive Open Novice division, the cross country of which included 18 fences - some that were on the training level course last year, he finish in sixth place with one rail in stadium and a clean x-country go. This was his third event ever, first time at Novice and first time at recognized. Clearly, he will be an event horse! Thanks to Sarah Shearin for her lovely ride on this talented young horse.

A sincere thank you to Jennifer Shattuck of N.C. We look forward to seeing you at the Carolina Horse Park on him!

Jameison
4 yo Percheron x Hackney 16.2H gray gelding. Currently hunting with the big boys! Jimmy is currently hunting first flight with both The Green Spring Hounds and Mt. Carmel and he is doing unbelievably well – he will trot into a 3’6” jump, he will hunt behind or in front, having taken the field when the field master retired for the day, and he goes in a rubber mullen mouth bit. He has been part of several hunter pace teams and won the Carrolton Hounds Optimum Time over fences. This horse is bred like (same stallion) another one we sold to the Master of Deep Run Hunt - Fielding. He is a lovely mover– great suspension in his trot and a ton of animation and self carriage. This horse has a noble character and excellent temperament. He is wonderfully put together – very uphill with a huge hind step. Jimmy is the go to guy when you have a novice rider who wants to trail ride. While he needs polish in the ring, he is absolutely bombproof on the trail and is very tolerant of less than perfect riders with virtually no spook. If you would like a young horse who is already hunting as well as one with years of experience, don’t miss this guy.

Thanks to Liza Craig of MD for her purchase of this sweet boy. We will truly miss him.

Lily
16.1H 4 yo solid bay Percheron x Hackney mare. You’ll have a hard time deciding whether she looks more like a Cleveland Bay or Dutch. No one visiting the barn believes she is a draft cross. She is so very attractive she catches everyone’s eye. She’s substantial without being the least bit heavy. She is dead quiet, and well started. She will hunt, event, or do dressage. She is already very quiet on trails and that’s what really recommends her – her rock solid temperament. Nothing scares this horse - she hacks out by herself and when deer jump out, she just looks. Cement trucks could roll down the road behind her and she does not care. She is currently hacking out on hunt rides with 40 to 50 horses and she is a star. She has impeccable barn manners and is a pleasure to be around. If you need a confidence builder – she is it. She has begun jumping and true to form, she never looks – just goes. She shows trememndous power and scope. If you are looking for a “type” that looks more warmblood than draft and want a quiet mind, don’t miss this mare. She is very special.

Thanks to Angela Greer of New York for her purchase of this lovely mare.
